About the team

History of Ownership

Twenty-one years ago, in 1993, prior to any country residential development in the area, Theologian Management Ltd. and W.K. Beattie Holdings bought this land from the Hunt family and accommodated dwelling sites for each Hunt family member so that they could remain on the land, as many do to this day. HIG and Beattie have remained good stewards of the land and have continued to farm and maintain the site. It was in January of 2008 that the concept for Ribstone Ranch was first introduced to the community. Committed to the concept of community consultation, the team listened to feedback that timing of this community was premature and we did not proceed.

Eight years later, much has changed yet some things stay the same. What will never change is the team’s commitment to build Ribstone Ranch right, not fast. Since that time Theologian has changed its name to Highfield Investment Group (HIG) a new CEO, Adrian Munro has taken the reigns, and sadly Bill Beattie lost his battle with AML, a type of Leukemia and has passed away but left an endowment fund still helping people with the same diagnosis. While he is greatly missed on this project, HIG is committed to Bill’s legacy of building quality homes in a community that withstands the test of time. The other major change has been the emergence of overarching policies that support the MD’s vision for this area.  The Growth Management Strategy identified a Central District, for which Ribstone Ranch is a part, as a high growth area, coupled with the new land use bylaw, which lays the foundation for density and the proper timing of Ribstone Ranch.
